ELEH - Floating Frequencies/Intuitive Synthesis Vol 1- lp
imprec125 - lp - $11.99
Limited edition of 400 packaged in letterpressed jackets. Each
individually numbered. The first 100 have black on black letterpressing.
Mastered and pressed at RTI.
After multiple pressing issues due to the low frequencies generated
by Eleh's vintage analog modular gear we've finally got copies ready
to ship and the vinyl sounds tremendous. Listeners are strongly
encourage to sit with ears at speaker level between 8 and 12 feet
away from the speakers. In this position Eleh becomes a deeply physical
& meditative experience. Noise cancelling headphone use is also
recommended for the optimum listening experience.
Eleh was formed to specifically to pay tribute to early experimental
minimalist pioneers especially Charlemagne Palestine, La
Monte Young, Eliane Radigue & Pauline Oliveros
as well as photographer Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and designer Josef
Albers.
Eleh create highly minimal and deeply spiritual pure analog
drone music with emphasis on the physical ultra-low end. Incorporating
tones well below the range of human hearing Eleh is as much
of a physical experience as it is an audio one.
This is the first release in a series of vinyl only limited editions
from Eleh on Important. Intuitive Synthesis 2 should
be available within the next 6 months. www.eleh.org

Reviews
"Eleh use a battery of analogue oscillators to dig down into
frequencies so low that they become their own obstacle; the technical
difficulty of mastering and pressing them satisfactorily have delayed
the release of Floating Frequencies/Intuitive Synthesis I.
Beautifully packaged and pressed in a limited run, this record could
have been a Stereolab-style exercise in fetishisation and nostalgia.
It's dedicated to La Monte Young, and the album's titles, instruments
and methodologies hark back to the academic laboratory conditions
of 1960's minimalism. But its forensic exploration of the limits
of bass perception (and reproduction) has uncannily contemporary
echoes. "In The Ear Of The Gods" drops immediately into
a speaker threatening sub-bass stasis and stays there with immaculate
purity, broken only by a raindrop of a kick-drum. When the unified
bass tones finally shift fractionally, the resulting phasing has
the kind of richly vertiginous wobble and warp that dubstep loves
to play with. The subterranean ripples of tone and the glacial pace
at which they unfold calls to mind Earth and Sunn O)))'s mute explorations
of the dark dynamics of depth when extracted from rock's edges."
The Wire
"Waaargh bass. yep all you dubstep heads out there look away
now because what we have here is REAL bass music. Eleh makes music
from pure analogue sources and this is minimalist sound at its best;
pure, deep and incredibly precise. Apparently the group was set
up in honour of Charlemagne Palestine, La Monte Young, Eliane Radigue
& Pauline Oliveros and I can really hear the similarities. Mastered
and cut at RTI (one of the worlds best pressing plants) this is
audiophile sound and truly spiritual - the slight variations become
tides of change, and on listening you begin to notice the tiniest
changes in tone and texture. This is the kind of academic sound
you can totally become absorbed in and it should appeal to early
electronic followers and minimalists everywhere! VERY limited and
already sold out at source so be quick!" Boomkat
